Clapham High Street
1999
London, United Kingdom

The residential scheme in London is adjacent to a railway viaduct in a difficult urban setting.
The scheme is clad in cement board panels.
The new rooftops are programmed to provide a loose collection of private, public and semi public activities including reading rooms, walkways, winter gardens and sun lounges, offices and extensions to flats. The program will allow the High Street to be active and illuminated when the shops below are closed. The roofscape will be constructed using lightweight modular building components, which bolt onto existing party walls eliminating the need for foundations.
