The scheme is a 40,000 capacity World Cup stadium with a large overhanging roof to provide a vast shaded space at ground level.
The city centre scheme resembles, to a large extent, stadium sites in cities such as London’s Stamford Bridge where the stadiums are integrated into dense urban fabric.
The overhanging upper level roof is inhabited with program that includes restaurants, sports facilities and community functions. Ground level area includes retail functions and public amenities integrated into the landscape.
