Eco Villa 2
2012
Doha, Qatar

The Eco Villa is a research project undertaken on behalf of the Gulf Organization for Research and Development for sustainable development.
The prototype villa was developed as a square volume with a central covered atrium. The volume is also cut into four parts to define living quarters and provide controlled daylight penetration.
By regulating daylight and organising the plan in a single volume, energy use can be more easily controlled.  The villa also uses a range a sustainable systems and technologies for passive and active cooling including the use of PV cells, hollow floor cooling, wind chimneys and trombe walls.
The scheme is a pilot project and will be used for testing sustainable technologies.
