Villa Valldoreix is located in the hilly suburbs of Barcelona. The scheme is inspired by the landscape of the garden and the L-shaped building effectively merges with the garden, blurring the boundary between nature and contained space. The roof and floor plains of the house are an extension of old garden pathways.
The upper level of the house is laid out as ‘pavilions’ clad in translucent screens making the building appear as garden lanterns at night. The building is as a hybrid space that is neither house nor garden but both and has been featured in publications worldwide.
