This eight story retail gallery and office building in Antananarivo, Madagascar scheme is located on a triangular site with a canal on one side and a main road on the other.
The scheme acts as a gateway for the wider master plan to the rear which includes a larger residential and commercial development.
The building is constrained by the plot dimensions and the setbacks required for the main road and canal.
The lower level portion of the building accommodates retail and gallery functions and the upper level will be used as residential space.
The steeply angular form resembles traditional housing typologies from Madagascar.
The scheme will also be rendered with a strong pigment also in keeping with traditional housing.
