BIM

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a term that has become ubiquitous in the design and construction fields over the past 20 years. The architectural software solution can be seen as disruptive technology that provides design team and clients with 2, 3 and 4 Dimensional CAD workflows.

MYAA was an early adopter of BIM in 2005 and we have adapted systems and processes for a range of schemes from mega projects to smaller more bespoke schemes. MYAA uses BIM Level 1,2,3 and 4 depending on specific needs. We initiate all our projects with 3d modelling, using parametric software in conjunction with BIM.

BIM is used as a collaborative cloud based platform internally with our design teams and with external consultants. Information is updated regularly on a shared model. The process enables automatic clash detection to ensure architecture, structure, and MEP services are quickly and fully coordinated. Project data is also extracted for cost purposes and design control.

MYAA have used BIM on a range projects including schemes with complex geometry. BIM has also been used for the design and development of Sports Stadia projects, Housing Schemes and Retail Centres. BIM models are also issued to contractors as part of the overall tender documentation to enable smarter and more accurate pricing and simplifying procurement.

Retail and Commercial projects using BIM have also provided our clients with greater flexibility where the BIM Model is used post construction for facility management.
