Sustainability is beyond Net Zero
& Self Interest. Its about Humanity

Sustainability & Quality

MYAA has in place a comprehensive approach to sustainable design supported by our Quality and Environmental Procedures in accordance to ISO 9001 and 14001 and audited by The United Kingdom Accreditation Service UKAS.

We understand sustainability not simply in terms of needs and obligations but in terms of human cultural, social and economic development. All of our projects are designed to be sustainable and provide legacy with the aim of reducing lifecycle costs and our carbon footprint.

MYAA has developed sustainable housing prototypes for mass housing using energy efficient production technology including the creation of Eco Homes, Eco Hotels and Eco Retail Centres. Our work with leading UK and global retailers has led to the creation of zero carbon shopping malls.

We have worked on Masdar City, The World First Carbon Neutral City. We have been instrumental in the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in the design of Urban Masterplans and we have used the same approach on buildings where saving energy and being resourceful are key economic and design drivers.

Our design projects involve many disciplines including environmental design and engineering.

We work to global standards for sustainable design.

The Global Standards we use are LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), BREEAM Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method, QSAS, Estidama and others.

We have designed and delivered LEED Platinum rated buildings which represent some of the most sustainable buildings in the world.

MYAA utilize a range of environmental simulation tools to develop effective environmental strategies for the design of our projects. Our approach is captured in our ‘Beyond Net Zero’ methodology where we seek design solutions that have positive environmental outcomes. This means using both active and passive solutions to minimize energy use whilst also supporting well-being for building occupants.

MYAA’s team consists of architects and trained engineers with a sustainability background, and this means we have an acute focus on beyond net zero outcomes demonstrated by the delivery of exemplar sustainable schemes worldwide. Our global experience also means we are at the forefront of developing innovative solutions such as landfill gas capture,  carbon neutral cities and hydrogen fuel cells.

Urban Sustainable Master-Planning

Sustainability MYAA, Mangera Yvars Architects

MYAA’s have worked on several Ecological Smart Cities where we have focused on creating self-sufficient and robust communities. Our work is aligned to the 17 UN Sustainable le development goals but we also engage with new ideas including Japan’s vision for Society 5.0. Ecological master planning requires a fundamental reassessment of how cities are organized, how we live and work,

methods and mechanisms of food production including urban farms with an emphasis on arable crops rather than animal-based protein. Ecological master planning also requires a complete reassessment of urban infrastructure including the elimination of traditional systems for waste collection and drainage systems supporting circular economy design principles and locally produced energy.
